Helping Those Who Have Loved & Lost
When it comes to pet loss, many people don’t understand or acknowledge the level of grief that a pet-lover experiences. Many people have told me a similar story—‘people tell me to get over it’ or ‘I don’t feel like I can grieve in front of people because they won’t understand’ or ‘my family just doesn’t get why I am so devastated’.
Fortunately, this is changing. Many counselors, psychologists and other professionals are now talking openly about pet loss grief, and pet-lovers can slowly start to find more acceptance and understanding out there when we are going through such a devastating loss.
